I feel I have a spiritual connection to nature. We are not separate from nature. Protecting our planet is essential to saving ourselves. Trees particularly fascinate, engage and promote wonder.
I'm also a "people-person." With an undergrad degree in theater and dance, and a theatrical family, capturing someone's true personality or emotions through mostly candid shots is my goal in portraiture.
I taught K-12 for many years and served as artist-in-residence for "Early Learning Through the Arts" programs. I then enjoyed 23 years as an English Professor at Mott College in Flint, Michigan. In addition to composition and many literature courses, my Children's Literature course allowed me to pass on my expertise about working with children to future teachers.
My latest special projects are two children's books that teach children ABCs and good nutrition through playful rhymes and colorful photos.
